Czech Republic plans strategic business partnership with KSA
In an interview with Okaz newspaper during his recent visit to the Kingdom, the Czech minister said “Czech Republic has a lot to offer as far as projects are concerned for the economic growth of the Saudi market as well as the Gulf region.”
He pointed out that the Czech Republic specializes in various technologies and it is keen to enter the Saudi market especially with success of its “Tatra truck” technology. The Czech Republic is also an exporter of food stuff and agricultural products and our officials from the food and agricultural industry will soon be visiting the Kingdom to discuss cooperation in this area.”
He further said “other areas which the Czech Republic wishes to enter the Saudi market are the information technology, nuclear energy and the protection of the environment projects.”
He added “there are already five Czech-Saudi alliances existing in the Saudi market in the field of building construction and gas.”
Minister Mladek reported that trade value between the two countries increased by 5% to $55 million. At the same time, he emphasized that there is a lot of scope to receive Saudi investors in the Czech Republic, highlighting that the Czech Republic is an open and free market, and that his government is ready to support projects in Saudi Arabia if these projects can provide jobs for Czechs.
Mladek appreciated the newly developed economic legislation by the Saudi government for the advancement of the national economy, and confirmed that it’s a good legislation and the atmosphere is suitable for work of economic projects in the Kingdom.
In the next five years, he said, “his country aims to extend commercial cooperation with the Kingdom to establish and develop industrial projects. Economically, we plan to move forward in the same direction as Germany. Our next goal is to work in full swing to build a strategic business partnership with the Kingdom in the same manner as we have strategic partnership with China and Azerbaijan.”
